Crescent City Necklace, Mississippi River at New Orleans, New Orleans Necklace, NOLA Jewelry

$42.00

"Someone suggested that there's an incomplete part of our chromosomes that gets repaired or found when we hit New Orleans. Some of us just belong here." - John Goodman

New Orleans gets it's nickname 'The Crescent City' from the crescent shape that the Mississippi River makes at New Orleans.

I used a map to draw the outline of this iconic bend in the river. The river is then cut from stainless steel and plated in 14k gold, rose gold, and silver.'

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your pieces made of?

All chains, clasps and jump rings are either gold filled or sterling silver.

Most charms are stainless steel plated in 100 mils thickness of gold or silver. This is considered 'very heavy plating' and is about 10x the thickness of traditional 'plated' items. As a result, with proper care, it can last as long as any gold filled or sterling silver item.

Size Information

I include measurements of the charms in both inches and millimeters. Most of my items have a delicate aesthetic by design. Please familiarize yourself with the measurements if you are concerned about the size.

The lengths of the necklaces are measured from tip to tip. Keep in mind that people come in all different sizes so 16" on one person may not fall the same on another person. The best way to determine your ideal length is to measure an existing necklace that falls how you like, or use a piece of string.

Where are your items made?

I take pride in my items being made exclusively in the USA. My chain and clasps are purchased from a company in California, my jump rings are made by hand in Colorado, my charms are laser cut in New York City and plated in Rhode Island, and my necklaces are assembled by hand in New Orleans, Louisiana.

A sad fact of life in this industry is that there are many copies of my designs floating around - especially in Korea and China. They are poor replicas of inferior craftsmanship and their prices reflect that. Please do not be fooled! My pieces are original designs, only made by me and sold on my website and to select brick and mortar boutiques around the country (and Canada).

Do you have a store in New Orleans?

I do not have a physical store in New Orleans but a select assortment of my items can be found at Zele NOLA located at 2841 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115.
